Thank you for taking the time to view my website.

I am a qualified Science teacher specialising in Biology, having 17 years of classroom experience in comprehensive schools, a decade of which was in a selective grammar school. During inspections, I was graded Outstanding by OFSTED. I achieved a first-class honours degree in Biological Sciences and just love Biology.

A couple of years ago, after having children, I took some time to reflect on my teaching career, concluding that the current state of education took me away from actual teaching and was stopping me sharing my passion for my subject. I took the rather scary step to leave my much-loved career and become a private tutor. I have LOVED it.

Has the process been easy? No. Do I miss my classroom? Everyday. Yet, building a relationship with some of the most wonderful students, having time to dedicate to their learning and confidence, developing my subject knowledge further and becoming an A level and GCSE examiner, have all reignited my passion for teaching; and I feel has made me the best teacher I have ever been. As a Biology content author, I also now have a knowledge of international education that I was previously oblivious to.

By offering one to one, online and group tuition, I provide options to make my teaching available for anybody who requires the service and support.

I am committed to offering the highest quality of tuition. As a member of The Tutors' Association governing body, my professional development continues giving me access to a network of support to provide the best teaching possible. More importantly for me as a parent, is that being part of a UK recognised professional body means I adhere to a code of ethics and have full DBS checking, which, in an unregulated profession I hope offers you safety reassurances that unfortunately, not all tutors deem necessary.

Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me.
